April Bird Walk
April 11, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Come join us at the Great Marsh for our monthly bird walks. The Great Marsh is a premier birding location in Chester County and to date has recorded over 185 bird species. Migration is ramping up in April and some of the more interesting species we can expect to find include: Blue-winged Teal, American Black Duck, Green-winged Teal, Hooded Merganser, Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot, Wilson’s Snipe, Savannah Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Rusty Blackbird, and Palm Warbler. We also may have a chance of seeing some more uncommon species that have been seen this time of year on the property including: Horned Grebe, Sandhill Crane, American Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Horned Lark and Pine Warbler.
The Great Marsh Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting scientific studies, educational opportunities, and protecting the unique Great Marsh in Northern Chester County. Donations are appreciated.
