Arts at the Great Marsh 2022

Meet the artists behind Arts at the Great Marsh 2022! This year’s event features a variety of musicians and dancers from the Philadelphia area and beyond.

The Pizza Collection

The Pizza Collection is a musical comedy act from Philadelphia who tour the country throwing pizza parties and performing their signature pizza songs.  Their live show takes the audience on a trip through the space-pizza-time-continuum, celebrating pizza through music, comedy, dance, art, and more. The Pizza Collection has performed across North America, from Philadelphia’s own World Cafe, to Minneapolis’ Pizza Camp, to Pizza Poetry Month in New Orleans, to their recent headlining appearance at Cinnaminfest. In 2018 The Pizza Collection broke the world record for the most pizza songs ever performed.

Almost June

Almost June is the project of Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter John Peterson. An avid music listener, John’s musical identity depends on what’s playing in his headphones. You can listen to his debut EP, Where Your Shadow Goes, on all streaming platforms.

Megan Bridge

Choreographer

Megan Bridge is an internationally touring performer, choreographer, producer, and dance scholar based in Philadelphia. She is the co-director of Fidget, a platform for her collaborative work with composer, designer, and musicologist Peter Price. Bridge holds a BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase, and an MFA in dance from Temple University, where she currently teaches in the dance department. When she is not dancing, teaching, or producing events, her favorite things to do are gardening and reading.

Lauren Anderson

Dancer

Lauren Anderson is a curious individual constantly fascinated by the unknown. She moves through space as a listener and a seeker. A reader of both stars and cards, Lauren uses astrology as a lens through which to interpret the world. Lauren is here to hold up a mirror for those in need of being seen.

Crux

Dancer

Crux is a multidisciplinary artist from New Jersey, now based in Philadelphia with a focus on dance and movement. In 2020 she graduated top of her class as “Most Promising Performer,” and received her dance BFA from Temple University. She is the founder of Forbidden Fruit, a company dedicated to curating opportunities for underrepresented artists at the intersection of performance & wellness. Her mission is to bring awareness to the value of dance while making movement & its healing powers accessible to all bodies.

Alter J

Dancer

Alter J is a movement artist from Chicago. She has over 15+ years of formal dance training ranging from ballet to post modern including a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Since 2019, J has ventured into the pole dancing realm and now teaches at Fly Club Chicago. Her contribution to the pole community focuses on creating euphoric improv based movement. J’s spiritual nature is what fosters an incubative, creative space centered around expansiveness, abundance, and pleasure.

Versaille

Dancer

Versaille is 21 years old and began their training in Georgia. In 2019 Versaille received the Director’s award for the St. Pius X High School dance company. They have studied with numerous programs such as Sarasota Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, and more. Versaille currently works as a part time dance teacher at SoundSpace Philadelphia under Pamela Hetherington.They are currently a full-time student at the University of the Arts with an Artistic Scholarship as well as the Associate Director of the Uarts Ballet Ensemble.

Destiny Nguyen

Dancer

Destiny Nguyen is a Philadelphia based dancing artist, teacher and personal trainer. She has a BFA in dance from Temple University and a personal trainer certification from NASM. Destiny spends her post grad life freelancing and training in the Philadelphia area and in New York City.

Tori Sexsmith

Dancer

Tori Sexsmith is a dancer, collaborator, and teaching artist based in Harrisburg PA. She holds a BFA in dance from Temple University and is an active member of PADEO (Pennsylvania Dance Education Organization) serving on the professional development committee. Tori is thankful and humbled to have the opportunity to work with Fidget and this cohort of amazing artists for this one of a kind event.
